June 2-9 is National NeighborWorks Week

National NeighborWorks Week, held during the first week of June each year, is a time when NeighborWorks America and its network of local nonprofit organizations connect with families across the nation to celebrate and beautify local communities. Event lookup

During NeighborWorks Week, local NeighborWorks organizations mobilize tens of thousands of volunteers, businesspeople, neighbors, friends, and local and national elected and civic leaders in a week of neighborhood change and awareness.

They rehab and repair homes, paint and landscape properties, conduct neighborhood tours, recognize successful partnerships, and host events that educate, train and inform. In addition, NeighborWorks organizations are eligible for grants and technical assistance to support their NeighborWorks Week activities.

Check out these photos from NeighborWorks Week 2011! Witness the collective efforts of communities all across the country to make their neighborhoods a place they are proud to call home.

National NeighborWorks Week: Make a difference. Engage. Give Back. Support Communities. Get involved!
